Traffic

The Traffic Unit, part of the Operations Division, is composed of dedicated officers who manage a wide range of traffic-related responsibilities. This specialized team responds to crash investigations, traffic complaints, and calls for service involving speeding, parking, traffic flow, and other roadway concerns.

In addition to daily operations, the Traffic Unit collects and analyzes traffic enforcement data and addresses direct community concerns. When recurring issues are identified, the unit conducts directed patrols—typically lasting 10 to 14 days—to target problem areas. These efforts often include the deployment of radar trailers, laser speed-measuring devices, and visible enforcement to encourage voluntary compliance and reduce violations.

Every Traffic Unit officer is certified and trained in DWI detection and crash investigation, ensuring professional, consistent, and thorough enforcement efforts that enhance roadway safety throughout our jurisdiction.
